There are over 1,000 geo-tracking and spy satellites up in space and yet we can still manage to lose a commercial aircraft with almost 300 people on-board.

Every ocean going yachtie and extreme adventurer has an EPIRB, many which auto activate, but not an airplane nor anyone on it. Really?
