Eternity

This pope actually said

A hell doesn’t exist, the disappearance of sinning souls exists.

Well that makes it an easy choice. Oblivion seems like a much better choice than eternal boredom.

One weekend of boredom is too much for me.

Pascal will be turning in his eternal bliss.

Controlling

Many of my friends, family and colleagues are “controlling” types: the subtle and compelling ones.

My mum is too. Because I grew up with one, I’m good at managing them I guess. Hence the correlation.

Eventually though, I grow weary of the charade and pull away. Quietly.

Facebook

Why are people so keen on Facebook?

Partly it’s the connectivity to others, and the opportunity to boost and measure one’s self worth relative to others.

Partly, it’s also the measurement and storage of one’s life. It’s a form of life after death,…eternity.

Attributions

So folks in the West have a habit of attributing good things to their great character and bad things to the external world.

This bias explains psychology. All psychology is derived from reasonable-like attempts to explain or fix negative things that happen to people.

Psychology itself is an external attribution. A form of bypassing.

F1

Max Verstappen says “you’ll never be able to cancel out all the risk and in life. I think it’s still more dangerous to just cycle through the city and get hit by a car then what we’re doing.”

That is, everyday I do something more dangerous than drive an F1 car! Woo hoo.

Believer

Why I am so relentless?

There’s no stop sign for me that works.

I’ll do whatever it takes to fulfill my destiny, Yada.

As Nic says

“For most people if they did nothing nothing would ever happen to them. You seem to have a wild ride with minimal input – I can see why you try not to meddle too much.”

Fuck she’s right. Shit happens to me.

Half because I trust in the universe enough to say no.

Half because I’m a true believer in outdated concepts such as truth, beauty and love.

A true fucking believer.

Amazeballs

Vivian has had 600 ml of a milk a day over the last 7 days. That’s 4200 mls. Breast Milk is 10% solids, so he’s had 420g of solids. in the last 7 days he’s put on 300g. That’s a 71% conversion efficiency.

Most of the other 29% has come out as wee and poo. I’ve got no idea how he’s keeping warm and cool or how he’s firing up his brain. I don’t think there’s a lot going on up there so it doesn’t need much fuel I guess.

Lerv

I am told, on very good authority, that all women almost universally want to be desired by men.

And yet, we are told by the #metoo movement, that women certainly don’t want to be “had” by men, unless they happen to want to be in specific instances.

I can’t help thinking that the confusion lies somewhere between these two generalizations.

Its no ones fault, except maybe God’s, if you happen to lean towards imaginary friends as a key part of your psychosis.

Guns

Why do Americans need and love guns?
Because they believe that they are the unworthy recipients of incredible good fortune.
Bad Others, different or black folk, are quite naturally plotting to take it all off them.
Hence all the guns
The solution?
Explain to them that they ain’t that lucky. The country, because of their paranoia, is ironically quite shit.
