You can attack institutions, expose hypocrisy and point out corruption, but if you treat society itself with contempt, you cannot reasonably expect society to respond to you without hostility.
Society is entitled to dislike you, criticise you, ostracise you and refuse to celebrate you.
But it is not entitled to suspend legal protections, invent offences, abuse state power or punish you disproportionately because you are contemptuous of it.
Unless it does.
