Monogamous means having only one romantic or sexual partner at a time.
Monogynous refers specifically to a male mating with only one female at a time.
So when you add sexual cannibalism into the mix, like we have with redback spiders (the female eats the male after copulation), you come to our new word;
Monotasty refers specifically to a male mating with only the one female, once ever, and then getting eaten.
As they say, it doesn’t matter where you get your appetite so long as you eat at home. And, there’s so much protein so close to home.
