I just read an article that was 10,000 words of bullshit on the Australian monoculture wars.
One bloke says people should understand what the other side means before arguing with them.
Bullshit to that, because the sort of the people that would agree to that proposition don’t need to be told. And vice versa.
Then he says Australia can have people from lots of backgrounds, but they still need to agree on some basic rules about how society works.
Yeah, it’s called the legal system mate. It’s not complicated. No one can be compelled to sustain the rules of a metaphorical higher authority, except in an authoritarian state.
The people arguing about this stuff are seeking a freebie. Pauline and Albo want votes. Academics just want to be noticed. Reporters want to sell ads for their bosses.
