Fundamentally they have this problem they can’t solve – an underperforming economy and an over performing welfare state that they can’t afford.
And when I say welfare I mean everything that costs and doesn’t create wealth, eg pensions, medical, water, defence, etc.
They want what Australia has, without the minerals. Who wouldn’t eh?
That’s what happens when you lose your colonial possessions: attitude without means.
