Fuck no, most voters in Australia can’t do calculus, algebra or even simple addition.
They only vote because they have to. The red or the blue they ponder for the first time as they are confronted by a bewildering voting pamphlet.
They either:
- Vote the way they always have, or
- Vote according to some tiktok they’ve seen recently, or
- Randomly pick one, usually the first one, or
- Deliberately donkey the paper
It’s hard being corrupt when you’re relying on lazy stupid fuckers that couldn’t give a fuck to buy your high quality lies.
But it is true that Trump-like candidates have had trouble getting traction in Australia because of our parliamentary party system with compulsory preferential voting.
Some people think that’s a good thing. But they also hate all change and we shouldn’t pander to their autistic needs.
