Surely, madness is subjective. My objectivity is your madness, for example. To wit, this blog.

I’ve heard that one purpose of declaring the idiot as mad is to protect them, or others, from their unbridled subjectivity.

Taking not this nugget as fool’s, the bar for madness itself must limbo up and down relative to the number of spectators in harm’s way.

At one end, the idiot only risks their own flesh; set the bar high I say. At the other extreme we have Trump, potentially discriminating against 7 billion odd; in such cases, act without evidence and with extreme prejudice.
