General practioner

Your local GP is informed and not educated.

They are also fantastic dogs, in the Pavlovian sense.

They know that their income is directly related to short appointments and the random prescription of drugs.

Misdiagnoses simply increase their income due to repeat appointments.

Someone must have once suggested that if there are ten possible causes of a set of symptoms it might be more efficient to treat all of them in a linear fashion until one works. Or not.

Still, I generally bail them up and ask for their chain of deduction. Whereupon it all degrades into a pissing competition with no prize.
