Odd Fact

The Australian noisy miner bird was called a “miner” because it resembled an Indian myna, both to look at and in its behaviour.

However, the noisy miner is a honeyeater and the Indian myna is a starling. That is, these birds are completely unrelated.

Miner is simply a crap spelling of Myna, probably coined by some dyslexic bird spotter.

You could go a whole lifetime without knowing that.
