Head Scratch
I’m not sure what it’s called when stand up from a cross legged position without using your hands?
A couple of years ago I couldn’t do it but now I can. I couldn’t even sit cross legged.
What’s changed is that I do a lot of stretching now.
The urban myth is that this standing from cross legged sitting capability is enabled by a strong core but that’s only for people with very weak cores.
In my case, my core strength was always way more than sufficient but flexibility in my glutes, calves, etc wasn’t.
Basically at acute angles I had no torque.
Which I guess is why footballers stretch, to have torque at acute limb angles, and not just to avoid strains. If only that had told me that at the time I might have partaken.
