“Orwellian” that’s what the pundits are calling it! And that’s not a reference to the quality of prose.
You might have noticed that every day there’s one or two articles in the papers reinforcing the notion that the Russian gubment is just outright bad.
If they don’t remind us everyday, we might forget. We forget anyway. Didn’t care much in the first place, in fact.
When Trump gets back in, what do they do then? He’ll try and settle the dispute by carving up the Ukraine and giving half to Russia. Then Russia will be our good mates again.
Although when relationships are normalised they might have a copyright issue with Wikipedia to deal with. Right now they’re operating outside of the global IP rules.
In any case, censorship is just stupid. Imagine going to the effort of copying and then rewriting all of Wikipedia?
In the West we have learned that the best place to hide the truth is in a sea of bullshit.
There’s absolutely no need to massage the truth when it surrounded by reality TV information, X, tabloid junk, and their ilk. No-one notices it or is interested even. In fact no one can discern information from disinformation.
Which then makes me ponder the inherent paradox – why spend so much effort to paint the Russians as the baddies?
I suspect there’s no concerted effort here. In its just half-witted media types pandering to some imagined global controller and their heavily armed minions.
