Utopia revisited
Phil just made me watch the ABC all night.
First we had some documentary on the billions of dollars scammed by the medical industry through the Medicare and insurance schemes. Mostly this is via over-medicalization which has either no efficacy or negative effects.
All collective tax and payment schemes are subject to such abuse by the beneficiary industries. They are only constrained by the amount of money in the system and the competitive scamming efforts of different industries.
Then we had a media watch show highlighting various moronic and dishonest behaviors of journalists and politicians.
And finally some panel show that elucidated how the game of politics trumps political effectiveness, as it always has.
And yet we live in the first world where these are very much first world problems.
But ironically the very same political system led us here, Utopia, where we are the most physically privileged people in the history of mankind.
The result is this – we have a choice:
To remain partially ignorant and live in outrage at the process, the hypocrisies and inequalities, or
To remain totally ignorant and live in trust and feigned indifference, or
To understand the moronic system, distance ourselves from it, and suffer the resulting ennui.
As I said, Utopia.
